Job Description

Total e Integrated is seeking a full-time General Accountant to support accounting operations across both Total e Integrated corporate and its Golf Management Company. This remote role is open to applicants residing in the Greater Toronto Area and involves a mix of day-to-day accounting, payroll, reconciliations, financial reporting, and operational support across both organizations.

About the Role

The General Accountant will work closely with the Controller and provide accounting support across Total e Integrated corporate and its Golf Management Company.

Responsibilities are divided between the two organizations. During the Toronto golf season, approximately 70% of the role will support the Golf Management Company. During the off-season, responsibilities will be split approximately 50/50 between the two companies.

This is a full-time remote position, and applicants must reside in the Greater Toronto Area.

Golf Management Company Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices, maintain records, perform reconciliations, and manage vendor-related accounting activities.
  • Payroll: Maintain employee data, process bi-weekly hourly and salaried payroll, prepare payroll journal entries and payroll taxes, prepare Records of Employment (ROEs), and prepare wage reporting for management.
  • Statutory Reporting: Prepare and remit WSIB and Employer Health Tax (EHT) requirements.
  • Operational Support: Coordinate daily with property General Managers regarding administration, inventory receiving, account queries, and other operational accounting support.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations for bank, cash, and credit card accounts.
  • General Accounting: Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries and assist with the preparation and posting of intercompany journal entries.
  • Financial Statements: Assist with the preparation of year-end company financial statements and coordinate with external auditors.

Corporate Company Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable: Assist with the monthly billing process, record keeping, and account reconciliation.
  • Credit Card Reconciliation: Perform weekly credit card account reconciliations.
  • General Accounting: Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries and assist with the preparation and posting of intercompany journal entries.
  • Financial Statements: Assist with the preparation of year-end company financial statements and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Merchant Processing and Expenses: Prepare merchant processor fee and expense report information for journal entries.
  • Payroll Support: Assist the Controller with calendar year-end processes, including T2200 and T4 reporting.

Additional Responsibilities

The General Accountant will provide coverage for the Controller during vacation periods. Additional responsibilities may be required during this time, including accounts payable invoice processing and payments.

Qualifications

  • Strong general accounting skills, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and revenue recognition processes.
  • Ability to work with accounting and ERP software, Microsoft Excel, and other financial analysis tools.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and basic tax, compliance, and audit support practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with remote and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification, such as a CPA designation or progress toward a designation, is considered an asset.
  • Experience in SaaS, technology, hospitality, or club and golf industry environments is beneficial.
